Forensic Files & Evil Doctors

Sorry I have not blogged in like two days if you care. Did you miss me? I didn't think so, but anyway...on to more pressing matters...

In honor of Hulu (free Hulu, not plus) being mega awesome, I am going to post the link so you can watch all the episodes on Hulu available, 19 of them, which I have been revisiting since last night

The Tru TV Website for Forensic Files, which has clips and maybe newer episodes form time to time, is located here.  Enjoy the blood spatter, semen samples, and DNA testing!  Oh, and there are games, sick, killer, and effin-a, that's wicked awesome!  Lordy bee, I am dysfunctional in every way!  You, too, can do fingerprint analysis in your spare time for entertainment.

My second favorite "medical doctor", because my favorite doctor of all time knows exactly who he is, is Dr. Henry Lee, only second to Dr. Michael Badin, who wasn't on this show, and that's the only thing I find wrong with it. Now, don't confuse this with my PCC, Dr. Badman, yes, seriously, that's his name. He did HBO Autopsy, which I will also link you to. Correct me if I am wrong, but I think he was also on Dr. G, Medical Examiner. She's number three on my list of favorite "forensic medical doctors".

The Rocky Horror Picture Show - 20th Century Fox by Chante Smith

 Via Wikia: Doctor Satan is a fictional character created by Rob Zombie. He was portrayed by Walter Phelan in House of 1000 Corpses and The Devil's Rejects. He seems unrelated to a pulp magazine character of the same name from the 1930s and 1940s. The sinister physician's history has been told different ways by different people so many times that no one knows who he truly is and how he became to be.

I'm sure I missed some, but those are just a few awesome evil doctors in cinema and literature.

RIP H.P. Lovecraft

H.P. Lovecraft died today in 1937.  He is one of my favorite horror story creators and truly mastered his craft.  I am going to post some of his audio books and stories based on his works so you can watch them and enjoy them this weekend!

Late Bloomer - the Short Film - from The Sundance Film Festival

Late Bloomer is a compelling and humorous short film about 7th grade sex ed class gone horribly wrong, which is loosely based on the dark tales of H.P. Lovecraft.

It received the

The Call of the Cthulhu (2005) -  The sailors aboard the Emma first encounter the Alert abandoned at sea, rather than crewed by Cthulhu cultists and taken over by Emma's crew after a violent confrontation as in the original story. Additionally, the film depicts the narrator present at the time of his great-uncle's death, who dies peacefully in his sleep, rather than being summoned upon the mysterious death of his great-uncle, who was presumably killed by Cthulhu cultists in the original short story.

The narrator notes as well that Inspector Legrasse, who had directed the raid on cultists in backwoods Louisiana, had died before the narrator's investigation began.
In the original story, the narrator does not seem to end in a lunatic asylum or experience any mysterious nightmares himself.  Its shot in black and white and given the mood as if it was shot long ago despite the fact that its a relatively "new" film.

RIP Karen Black, Happy Birthday H.P. Lovecraft!

Oddly enough, today is H.P. Lovecraft's birthday. Karen Black just died. Speaking of Karen Black, one of my favorite films of all time, where horror is concerned is Trilogy of Terror, which features Karen Black as a different character in all three stories in the trilogy film. Its a good flick and I always remember it fondly!

Chill (Cool Air) - H.P. Lovecraft Adaptation - Film!

I recently got bored and rented "Chill", which is essentially "Cool Air" on demand.  I was excited, because I knew it was an H.P. Lovecraft short story adapted into a film, which is usually a pretty good thing.  I watch Chill, and its classic Lovecraft, a tad bit cheesy, but it captured its point, and the story-line was good, because I had never read Cool Air, but I dug it.  If you're in for a psychological thriller, its a good idea to check it out either on Netflix or on Comcast On Demand for $2.99, sweet! 

Lovecraft wrote Cool Air in New England, which endears this story to me, as I have lived here all my life, and its an effing creepy place to be quite frank, how befitting!  I thought it was pretty cool that Kirsty from Hellraiser was in it as well as James Russo and Thomas Calabro, wasn't he on Melrose Place in the nineties, haha?  Kirsty looks great.  She looks younger than she did in the 80's!

H.P., you are my hero!

Imprint - OOOOh, disturbing hooker, well, more like a Geisha, with a heart of gold is horribly deformed, with a split face, one on each side, one beautiful, one horribly ugly. Nevertheless, she's sweet and entertaining, so she gets customers. She's got some secrets, and oh does she have a story to tell!
