10 Killer & Free Troma Flicks

The Children (1980) - A nuclear-plant leak turns a bus-load of children into murderous atomic zombies with black fingernails.

Rabid Grannies (1988) - Two elderly sisters invite their wonderful nieces and nephews to a dinner party in celebration of the sisters' upcoming birthdays. The one nephew who is not invited (the black sheep of the family); is a devil worshiper. He got disowned by the aunties. The rest of the guests are just waiting for their aunts to kick the bucket, leaving them with their inheritances. However, the naughty nephew sends a party gift that causes things to take a turn for the macabre: the aunties turn cannibal and get hungry!

This is a lovely flick for the whole family, good wholesome family fun!

The Taint (2011) - The water is tainted and poisons the minds of men. It turns them into monsters who want nothing more than to kill women. Its is up to Phil OʼGinny and his friend, Misandra, to fight this evil!

Igor and the Lunatics (1985) - Sixteen years ago, bloodshed experienced a wave of horrifying slaughter. The townspeople finally caught up with Igor and his evil gang and locked them away to rot in prison, but now they're on out and on probation, and more deranged, demented, and deadly than before!

Screamplay (1985) - This is the story of screenwriter, Edgar Allen, who arrives in Hollywood carrying his most valuable possessions - a battered suitcase and a typewriter. He imagines scenes so vividly for the murder mystery he is writing that they seem to come to lie and oh they do!

Body Parts (1994) - When strippers at a local strip club start ending up dead and hacked to pieces, police begin questioning employees and patrons of the club.

Parts of the Family (2003) - Inside an old, dilapidated house is a tragic past. One evening a family of four is hacked to pieces. The beautiful housekeeper, who resides with the family, Ella, survives. Lovely Ella is one day kidnapped by failed bank robber, Jason Goodis. Unfortunately for Jason, Ella has an unquenchable thirst for blood! Outside, the house is surrounded by police. Down in the basement there is an unseen restless stirring.

As the tension mounts, Jason Goodis can’t fight the urge to escape. There are noises in the attic, sounds coming from the basement. Ella lures him into the garden where he is grazed by a sniper’s bullet. Jason will never be the same again!

Nightbeast (1982) - Nightbeast is a sci-fi horror flick that is an interpreted, stylistic remake of The Alien Factor. The story revolves around a small town sheriff who is charged with the task of stopping a rampaging alien from killing the residents of Perry Hall.

Pigs (1972) - A small town is turned upside down by the vicious murder of a dad by his daughter, who claims he sexually assaulted her. She escapes from a locked psychiatric ward and travels way up into the country to hide out, only to find carnage that comes from the most unlikely of species.

She becomes employed at a diner run by a farmer, Zambrini, who has a bit of a dark recipe for murder. Soon locals begin to disappear and Zambrini’s pig farm begins to mysteriously grow! What secrets are held in the pig pen?

Rockabilly Vampire (1996) - Irish is a tad obsessed with Elvis Presley. She's having a bit of a problem with work, her landlord and her landlord's creepy son. One day she meets a billy greaser guy who's right up her alley and is stylin' Elvis. She falls hopelessly in love. However, her guy is kinda a vampire.

Rockabilly Vampire (1996)

Iris is stuck in the 50's. She is quite obviously a billy chick and like most if not all rockabilly enthusiasts, she loves Elvis. Iris believes Elvis is still alive. She believes this because, when she was 14, she had a dream in which Elvis told her he was going into hiding. The next day, the news was all over that Elvis had died. Of course, the publishers to whom she is trying to sell her story tell her that she is a crackpot.

Iris and her goth friend Emma are sitting at the counter of the goth shoppe where they both work and discussing Iris's lack of a love life and Iris looks out the window and sees Elvis. By the time Emma looks up, Elvis has disappeared. Yeah, it probably was just a vision, Iris agrees. Later that day, however, as Iris walks home, she bumps into Elvis again. It turns out that "Elvis" is really Eddie Vincent.

What Iris doesn't know is that Eddie Vincent is also a vampire, having been turned by his own brother Wrecks back in 1956 while on his way to an Elvis lookalike contest. Unlike Wrecks, Eddie doesn't like being a vampire, and he drinks human blood only when the craving becomes overwhelming and then only from drunks, thugs, and other undesirable persons.

When Wrecks and his two henchmen, T-Bone and Greasy, come looking for Eddie (so Wrecks can bite Eddie for the second time, which will place Eddie under his power for all eternity), Eddie goes on the defensive. Afraid that Wrecks might harm Iris, on whom Eddie is starting to get sweet, Eddie tells Iris that he and Wrecks are vampires and says a sad goodbye to Iris...but not fast enough.

Wrecks finds Iris at the local diner, having a fried banana sandwich on Wonder bread, and can tell from the smell that Eddie has been with her. When Wrecks begins to threaten Iris, the diner manager chases him out. Iris pays her bill and goes outside, where she finds Eddie, bloody-handed and standing over the dead manager, whose throat is equally as bloody. Eddie swears that it was Wrecks who did the killing and pleads with Iris to hide him at her apartment until they can figure out what to do.

Eddie is beginning to get hungry for blood. When Lorenzo, a Beatle wannabee who is also sweet on Iris, comes to inform her that, if she doesn't go out with him, he's going to get Juju the Voodoo Guru to put a love spell on her, Eddie and Beatle Boy get into a fight, and Eddie ends up drinking his blood (Beatle Boy's final words, "Help, I need somebody..."), finally convincing Iris that he's serious about being a vampire.

Now believing that Eddie needs blood, Iris (and Eddie), wearing red bandanas over their noses, stage a daring robbery of a blood bank, making off with a pint. Unfortunately, the blood is bad and Eddie barfs it up. Fearing that Eddie is fading fast, Iris offers him her neck. The next morning, Iris wakes up a vampire.

Meanwhile, Iris's scuzzy landlord Benny Lawalski, whose father was recently killed by what looks to Detective Crapoe like a vampire bite, notices Iris reading Carol Page's book Bloodlust, and he begins to get suspicious. While Iris is showing Emma the cool bites on her neck, Benny suddenly shows up at the shoppe with a crossbow, intending to destroy Iris.

Benny forces Iris to lead him to Eddie, who immediately overpowers Benny and knocks him out. Eddie and Iris attempt to leave the apartment but they are seen by Wrecks and his henchmen who follow Eddie and Iris to the roof where they try to escape. Just as Wrecks starts to put the bite on Eddie, however, Benny shows up and shoots a wooden dart through Wrecks' heart. Benny then strangles T-Bone with a string of garlic and sends another dart through Greasy's heart.

When Benny turns the crossbow on Eddie, Iris steps in front of him and takes the dart herself. Wrecks wakes up just long enough to bite Benny's neck, while Eddie pulls the dart from Iris's chest. Fortunately, it missed her heart. When Iris has healed enough to travel, Eddie steals a red convertible, and they both drive off together to find Elvis.

Dracula's Portrayal Through The Ages!

Dracula is obviously a novel penned in 1897 by Bram Stoker, the nutty Irishman who started all the vampire phenomena to begin with in Western Culture. Thank you Bram! We all know that it was a way to talk about sex in the restricted Victorian culture in America and England and elsewhere. Dracula took something from mainly women and submissive men, mainly removed blood from the neck, a sensual area, and did so with his mouth (teeth). Its a metaphor for sexuality, being sexual, or whatever you wish to call it.

Mr. Dracula has been adapted so many times in so many movies, its not even funny. We all have our favorite actors who have played him. I know I have mine! (Christopher Lee). Gary Oldman is actually my favorite actor, but I think Christopher Lee was more suited for the role physically as he looks like what I would expect Count Dracula to look like, but I will say, Gary Olman plays the crap out of that role. He has the best Romanian accent ever, and actually becomes what you would expect the historical Prince Vladamir Tepesh (Dracula) to sound like. The historical character probably looks nothing at all like we expect as he is romanticized, but we all want to see him as an attractive guy in the movies, because its harder to accept him if you don't see him that way.

Mr. Stoker also wrote a short story called Dracula's Guest, in which has become a film a few times. I don't know how much I love that story, but still, you can see the far reach of the character. Its genius!
