In The Mouth of Madness

A mental hospital patient tells his story about his case he was working on as an insurance investigator investigating a claim made by a publisher. He is asked to investigate the disappearance of Sutter Cane, an influential horror writer who has a strange effect on h is fans!

You read his books, and you start to go crazy. After reading the novels for research, the investigator starts having bad dreams of deformed people killing, with axes, no less. Cane's stories cause disorientation, memory loss, and paranoia in unstable readers.

Now tell me, Do you read Sutter Cane?

He travels with Linda, who works at Cane's publisher to New Hampshire to find, Hobb's End, the fictional setting for Cane's works. Linda starts having weird experiences, too.
