You will notice I left out some of the animated classics and kid's horror movies such as Hocus Pocus and The Nightmare Before Christmas as well as grey area movies that don't really have a clear genre such as The Crow.
I only listed movies that are actually scary and contain gore, murder, demon possession, and creatures of the night for your viewing pleasure, of course. So, when you think of horror classics and some newer and more contemporary horror movies filled with murder, gore, and sinister characters, here they are!
1. Halloween (1978) - Rob Zombie's Contemporary Remake(s) Included!
Before Activia, there was Halloween!
2. Satan's Little Helper (2004) - Doesn't the little boy in this flick look like McLovin'?
3. Trick 'r Treat (2008) - Before there was Sookie Stackhouse, on HBO, anyway.
4. Night of the Demons (1988) - There was a 2009 remake, but this is the original.
5. May (2000) - Listening to Hole's Doll Parts when writing this screenplay?
6. Ginger Snaps (2000) - Katherine Isabel's breakout role as a horror diva, Ginger.
I have recently noticed her in some non-horror roles.
She has defined her genre in this flick!
